One of the issues that Juan ran for office on was gun rights. He was all in on concealed carry and he did not support increases in gun safety. But now he does not seem to be speaking up for gun rights in light of the ICE killing in Minneapolis. I called Juan’s office to ask about his position on the second amendment and the White House’s position that the ICE killing was justified because Pretti was legally carrying a firearm while he was filming a protest. Private gun rights are typically extremely limited in authoritarian run countries. Seems like that is where we are headed with 2A (especially if you are not a proven Trump loyalist) and Juan seems to be just another MAGA lamb.
