According to Juan Ciscomani’s website (https://ciscomani.house.gov/issues) border security, education, energy, veterans, and water are the Key Issues in congressional district 6 (CD6). He needs to add the economy, consumer protection, protection of important programs (like Social Security), and anti-corruption to his list. . . but he probably does not want to talk about those things.
Juan isn’t working for the working people of CD6, he is working hard to generate propaganda to make you think he cares. Juan clearly has a team of consultants helping him with his political theatre to deceive voters in the district.
Border Security
Securing our border is very important. Juan supports the Trump administration’s approach to securing the border. Because they are handling the process in a brutal and inhumane manner, immigrants do not want to come to the USA. People in Mexico for example say that they believe America is dangerous due to frequent mass shootings and masked thugs brutalizing people of color. This approach is effective at eliminating immigration, but also adversely impacts tourism, legal immigration, and our economy. Do you support the administration’s approach to securing the border?
Education
Juan implies that he supports public education, but he sends his six children to private school, and he does not oppose cuts to the department of education, special ed programs, and dismantling of public education. Juan also has not opposed efforts to rewrite history. Do you want to homeschool your children or send them to expensive private schools that do not have any clear educational standards?
Energy
Juan says he cares about energy, but he has not opposed the administration’s cuts to clean energy industries. The current administration only cares about supporting the fossil fuel industry. The administration’s policies prioritize short term profits for the rich over long term sustainable energy policies that will be good for future generations. Our recent rate hikes are thanks to Juan and the Trump Administration.
Health
Juan says he cares about health care, but he voted to cut medicaid and eliminate the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obama Care) subsidies. The Affordable Care Act relies on a combination of federal and state funding along with individuals paying premiums to make the program viable. The funding cuts supported by Juan are designed to destroy the program which has been a Trump goal for years. Trump hates anything good created by democrats. Do you think healthcare should only be affordable for a small group of Americans?
Veterans
Juan puts a lot of effort into his legislation and propaganda around his support for veterans. But Juan is not a veteran and was not born in this country. Juan may advocate for veterans, but his policies are counter to many of the principles our veterans have fought hard to provide for us. Juan and the Trump Administration are working hard to degrade freedom of speech, freedom of religion, voting rights, and other critical demographic principles.Do you think our current veteran’s are happy with the degradation of our democracy?
Water
Juan’s big claim to fame on water is signing on as one of the bipartisan sponsors of the Northeastern Arizona Indian Water Rights Settlement Act. It is unclear what work Juan and his staff really did to help get this act approved.
However, CD6 has many big longterm water challenges, and Juan has not demonstrated the expertise or ability to help the citizens of CD6. Instead, he is supporting industrial activities and mining operations, that if not adequately regulated, have the potential to destroy water resources for generations. And with the gutting of agencies tasked with making sure these mining and industrial activities are protective of our water resources, are you worried about how our limited water resources will be protected?
